Lindera Farms Foraged Pantry
Lindera Farms Cherry Blossom Vinegar
Lindera Farms Cherry Blossom Vinegar is like a love letter to spring. It pairs cherries with cherry blossoms for a vinegar that’s bright and floral, and tart rather than sweet. Lindera describes it as cherry pie in vinegar form!
Use it anywhere you'd normally reach for red wine or rosé vinegar, but also for cocktails and mocktails, perking up fruit, and even vegetables.
What Is Cherry Blossom Vinegar?
Because cherry blossoms don’t taste much like cherries on their own, Lindera Farms starts this vinegar with actual cherries, including wild sour cherries foraged from its Virginia property, and ferments them into cherry wine. When cherry blossom season rolls around the following year, foraged blossoms are added almost like hops to finish the vinegar.
The blossoms add nutty, earthy notes that lend this vinegar a wonderful complexity.
What Does Cherry Blossom Vinegar Taste Like?
It's bright and tart with medium-high acidity and very little sweetness. You'll taste fresh and preserved cherry along with floral, yeasty, earthy notes.
How to Use Cherry Blossom Vinegar
Try it:
- Whisked into vinaigrettes (our favorite use for it!)
- Tossed with roasted beets
- Added to cherry or berry desserts
- Splashed into sparkling water
- In cocktails with gin or vodka
- Drizzled over fresh ripe peaches for a bright balance to the sweetness
Why It’s a Relish Fave
We’re big fans of Lindera Farms vinegars here at Relish! At first glance, you might wonder how you’ll use them, but each of them can be swapped for a more standard vinegar variety; in this case, red wine or rosé vinegar. Using them as a stand-in for those everyday vinegars will give some of your favorite recipes a new spin.
